  1. I think we have a disadvantage becuase we are clutterd with the high school students and dont have enough space to make sure each class doesnt have up to 25 kids in one class. Also it is hard to transportate around the hall and we are forced to be trapped in a hot hall way, stuck and sometimes late to class. I think we need our own middle school.

  2. In our school we have an advantage s and disadvatages to other schools in the state. First, everyone in our school is friendly to all ages except in another school they may not be as friendly. For example, how we help each other out with school others in another school may not even know each other. Next, we have a disadvantage to other schools because We have more kids and are ny state test scores may get lower. For instance,if more kids fail here were scores drop as a school however, other schools may have less kids that can raise their scores higher. Finally, we have a greater sports team to win againest any other school. For example are high school students have a greater chance of wining with all the schools support, however, in another school they have not enough support as us. In conclusion, we have advantages and disadvantages against other schools.

  3. I personally believe that we have a advantage to be combined with the high school.First, we get to do somethings with the high school. For example, we were able to have class clash with them. If we weren't combined with the high school we wouldn't have class clash maybe.Second, we get too exprince cretin things with them. For instance, they show the example to us in some of or classes when there to show us what the right thing to do. Lastly, we get to do somethings with them. For example, if we both in band, chorus, or any clubs. In conclusion, we have an advantage being combined with the high school.

  4. I think that our school have a disadvantages.I think that our school have a disadvantage because our school is mainly clutterd in the hallways. For example, when i try to go to some of my classes i keep on getting blocked from the other taller and more mature kids there. Also the disadvantage for our school being together instead of being seperated to two school is that mainly that teachers arent focused enough on a group of students but mostly all of the students depending on what they are teaching. For example when a teacher tries to focus on a group of student they need to teach they have to focus on the other groups of students to teach in diffrent grade levels. In conclusion, we have maintaned disadvantages for our school.

  5. Alexander Hamilton Jr/Sr High School, it's all in the name and people give disputes about it. Is it an advantage or disadvantage for us to be a Jr. and Sr. high school. Personally, I think its a disadvantage. This is because of the fact that seventh graders walk the same halls as the twelfth graders. This gives a higher chance of bullying and theft. Our buses get cramped with students of all grades (7th - 12th grade). Students in one grade get along with students in other grades. Even though this is a good thing, it can turn bad. It can lead to arguments about stuff and can lead to fights. Plus, there are so many students and staff for the principal and assistant principle to keep track of. Our hallways get really crowded and people often get late for class. There are also some advantages to our unique set up. We get more people, which means more support for our sports teams. We also have a higher chance of making new friends (like what I said earlier). We also have a high amount of staff to control the trouble makers of the school. I think we should enforce the rules to prevent anymore troubles because after all, this is a school where you should learn not pound.

  6. I think our school has an advantage toward other schools because were unique. What makes us unique is the ghetto kids and events( when i say ghetto i mean it in a good way). For example, class clash is crazy fun cause the kids"That's right seniors, i got you". Also all the clubs help us link up with many older kids that got our backs like our own posse. For example, i got all the Indians on my side so don't touch me. Another advantage is some of the teachers in our school. Some can chill and relate with the kids. For example, Mr V is not a strict teacher at all unless you get pissed off. He can understand us kids. That's all i have to say.

  7. Having a combined school isn't really an advantage or disadvantage. Well the one disadvantage I know of is that when people ask a me what school that I go to and when I say I go to Alexander Hamilton High School, that person will get confused and ask me why am I in high school and I have to go through a long process of explaining. I really don't think it is a disadvantage but the only advantage there is that I'm in the same school as my friends. I really don't think it is really much having a combined school.Although, it does make sense if 6th, 7th, and 8th grade shared a school. I think the people who built all these schools in the Elmsford District din't want to make a 4th school.

  9. We have some advantages and disadvantages. For example our school might have one of the best students and some great opportunities to go to collage. Also there are many sports you can play. On the other hand Alexander Hamilton is such a tiny school for the grades 7 through 12. I think that 6,7, and 8 should have their own middle school and the 9 through 12 should have their own High school.

  10. I think that our school has an advantage over othere schools in New York.Unlike most schools we have jr. high school intergrated with high school. Now most schools would not even think about putting jr. high and high school together, because they might think that the high school students will be a bad influence on the junior high. However at our school the high school students are very friendly. If you notice at our school about junoir high students are friends with high school students. Even though it gets really crowed in the hall ways, and kids get mad because they say they can not get to there locker and so they are late to there classes. So in conclusion having jr. high intergrated with the high school students is not as bad as some othere schools might think.

  11. I think we have a advantage To be mixed up with the high school because we all have some events together and some other schools may not have the same things as we do.I also think we have an advantage because I think that when we all are together in the school we all get along with each other well and alot of bad things doesn't happen to often. For an example in class clash we all worked together very hard and did our best. For another example some of us now alot of people in the school and alot of different things goes on.However,I think we are lucky enough to have everyone then other schools are.I think that we all can keep it up like other kids in junior high with the older high school kids.

  13. I think we have a advantage and disadvantage of being mixed up with the high school,in many ways. The #1 disadvantage of being mixed with high school is that, their is a more chance of getting bullied. For example, last week I saw a kid getting stuffed in a locker by an older kid but, luckily a teacher came to the rescue. The teacher was able to stop the older kid from the other kid, that was being stuffed in the locker.Another, disadvantage for being mixed with the high school is that sometimes the hallways get over crowded .For example,I was trying to get to Ms.Zucker's class before but, to many high school students were coming up the stairs so,I had to take the long way around to get to her class. On the other hand, the advantages are that, some of our brothers, sisters, and cousins are high school students and they can help us around the school. They can tell us which teachers to beware of {Mr.Vergara} and they can tell us which room is who's.For instance,on the first day of school I did not know where Mr.Simon's room was but thank god,my cousin was there for me.Another, advantage is that high school students can give us helpful tips ,when we go to high school. They can give us many helpful tips such as,where to get extra help, studying tips, and how to impress teachers. All the tips they give us can lead us to have a successful life.To conclude, their are many advantages and disadvantages of being mixed with the high school.

  14. I think it is a advantage to sharing a school. I think for Jr. and Sr. we both have an advantage to sharing a school together. One reason is to learn from the older mature kids and treat each other rite.second reason is we can learn about the teachers that teaches the older kids so we know what classes to take when we get older. We can all do the same activities like class clash that day i will never forget. We can also hang out and be friends or make new friends.

  15. What I feel is that having a Jr. and Sr. high school is an advantage and a disadvantage.
Although having a the schools combined almost makes the 7th and 8th grade mature,it also seems to give the teachers a right to compare us to the actual high schoolers. The reason I say this is because sometimes us students do try hard in school,it maynot be the best that you expect but we do try. Then the teacher ends up giving you a lexsure about how we could of done a better job and were going to be in high school real soon, when the reality is there is so much time in between now and high school where we could catch up in what were laking. Then agian you dont seem to believe it,so lexer after lexer you get tired of taking and end up giving up on the wrong student. Then again were talking about the school being combined,if it wasn't and we had smaller classes like some of the students in Alexander Hamliton Jr. Sr. high school do,we wouldnt have that problem. The students would be doing incredible in school no problems what so ever.Although thats never going to happen to the right students. To conclusion being in a Jr. Sr. high school is an advantage and a disadvantage.

  16. I think our students have an advantage when we comdine the junior high and the high school. Our students are able to look up at the older kids as role models. We can also see the stress that the seniors go threw because they weren't prepared for 12th grade. I dont think that we have an advantage against other schools. We dont have as many sports or programs as other schools. Other schools are bigger than our school and some schools might have better lunches. Also they might have better privoleges. 17. Junior High and High School is a disadvantage and advantage. It is a disadvantage because Junoir High kids try to act older then there real age. They try to act "mature". When instead there acting immature. Doing stupied things like, acting up to a teacher or bullying someone else so people and assume there "tough" when there actually acting ridiculous. The 6th,7th and 8th grade should have there own Junior High School. In contrast, Junior High and High School combined is an advantage becasue there would be more paople to join clubs and sports. It also gives us a taste of what High School is. Teachers aren't going to give you anymore second chances if your work isn't done. Therefore, we have maintained our school how it is by keeping its advantages and disadvantages in our Junior High and High School combined.

Its bad because if a seven grader have proplem with another seven grader they could ask one of his older friends to beat the kid.i think theThe 6th,7th and 8th grade should have there own Junior High School.Another, disadvantage for being mixed with the high school is that sometimes the hallways get over crowded . that'swhat i think.

  19. I think its an advantage. I think its an advantage because first, you get to take out your phone when its you lunch time and if you have an older sibling you get to ask them something. Another reason is that it gives you a heads up of what high school is like if its bad or good. Also, I think its a disadvantage beacuse we dont have a lot of sports and program beacuse we have a lot of people in the school. I think we should have a middle school so it could be more easier to control then like high school and middle school people put together and get confused also.On the other hand, theres too much drama in the school with middle and high school put together and its too complicated that the principals go thru. SOme of the high schoolers bully the middle schoolers and i think thats wrong. So thats why I think its both.

  20. I think our school has an advantage over other schools because we don't have to keep switching schools. For example, other schools are seperated and they have to keep graduating or continue to switch schools. For some students change can be difficult. Once you are use to one school, then leave you may not be happy. But our school district you graduate from the 6th grade and you go into the junior/high school and graduate in the 12th. However, a disadvantage in our school. Hamilton is a small school. Some of our classes have to many students in one class and then some don't do well.

  21. i think our school has a advantage and a disadvantage. For example i think our school has a disadvantage because there are so many children in the school which causes the hallways to be crowded and the effect on that is we're late to our classes. some people dont see the problem with 9-12 graders being in the same school as us but some people do and i agree on both of those opinions. my reason for agreeing with both sides is because they can be a bad influence on us, they can be a distraction to us also but, then again they can help us in life. they can show us not to make the mistakes they made they can give us advice on how high school is gonna be. so therefore i think its half and half.

  22. I believe that we have advantages and disadvantages in the combinataion of junior high and high school. I completely agree with Maria's disadvantages, in addition, some people change because they are in the high school, and their attitudes change mostly for the worse. also there is more bullieing then there would be if there was two different schools, but if it were two different schools when our eight grade friends leave it would be hard to say good-bye even if it is for one year. Also we wouldnt be able to see our old teacher every day like the older kids can. However, some advantages are that people get to go to school with their older brothers and sisters. Also we get treated as though we are older, and we are. We get to chew gum and use phones and I-pods at lunch. This combination also helps you get ready for the changes in high school and the assignments are much bigger. I believe that being in Hamilton is so much better than it was being in Grady.

  23. I think combining our school and high school has some advantages and disadvantages. The disadvantages are that some high school kids might be poor role models and show the Jr. High stupid things. The bullying rate might also go up as well because some high school kids are 6 years older than us! some advantages might be that we see the high school teachers and see what to expect or vice versa. Another advantage might be that we wouldn't have to go to a whole different building and get lost in it as well as miss or be tardy on important subjects. I personally think that it is a disadvantage but then again building another school for 9th grade and up will cost a lot of money and cut deep in our schools budget.

  24. Being combined with the High School is both an advantage and disadvantage. It's an advantage because if u have an older sibling that goes to high school then u have a piece of home that goes to school with you. Another thing is that the high school students can tell junior high kids what their up against in a few years. It is a disadvantage because most of the high school students are slackers and are bad influences to the younger kids. A greater disadvantage is that if we were individual schools then the junior high school wouldn't have to go to school so early.

  25. I think our school has some advantages and disadvantages of having middle school and high school as one school. Some advantages are not having to wonder what high school is like and having that new school feeling. You'd be 1 floor up and feel no difference. Another advantage is having a bigger school. With 6 grades sharing one school, the school has to be big, and AHHS is a big school. But keep in mind that there are disadvantages of having middle school and high school combined as one. One example of a disadvantage, are the hallways. Every period the hallways become cluttered and all student end up in a swad. A second example of a disadvantage is being with the older kids. Sometimes kids get bullied and pushed around and its doesn't seem to help being in the same school with those bullies. In my total opinion i believe that our school is and overall advantage. Yet still we can see all advantages and disadvantages to having a combined school.

  26. Being a junior high school combined with a High school comes with some advantages also with disadvantages. One advantage is that the students could socialize with people out of their age group. This will give the students more confidence, however, there are people that could be bad influences towards the students. Being combined with a high school could show the junior high what the will face later on in their educational career. This would make the junior high less nervous about high school like is other schools who are seperated. One other disadvantage would be that the junior high students could possibly be bullied. This could couse the junior high to become violent in high school. Concluding, the high school combined with a junior high school comes with both advantages as well as diadvantages.

  29. I think its a disadvantage and a(n) advantage of the junior high school and high school being combined. When your a sixth grader and you come up to Hamilton your given more freedom. A teacher doesn't need to walk you to a class everyday. You just have to go and if your late that's on you. Though the problem with 6,7,or 8 graders is that when they come to Hamilton they think there a high school-er that can be wild and do what ever they want. When your actually in middle school in a high school, which doesn't mean you act like a high school-er. Some of the kids act way to old and think their all cool and tough and run the school when they don't. You can think of it like your renting the place right now but the high school-er's own the place. There honestly doesn't need to be so much fights between are grades because we have nothing to fight about. From the actions of some students it gives the whole junior high a bad image even when there's some nice kids in it. The advantage of being combined with the high school-er's is that if you have a older sibling you have someone you can lean on if your ever in trouble or if you need anything. You also have there friends which support you and can always put a smile on your face even when your down. Even if we don't mention it the high school-er's put in a lot of work to this school just to make it better for us and we never even say a thank you but were always there to appreciate it. Some of the programs we have now in our school is because of the seniors and everyone just making it happen. Certainly, at the end we all come together as one school to help our community out and rise above them all.

  31. Our school has a lot of advantages and disadvantages. One advantage is that we get a higher level education. Another is there's always seceraty walking around the school. One last advantage is that there are so many activities to do and chose from like, track basketball, baseball, band, chess club, and more. Now,some disadvantages are when the classes are over the hallways are filled so if anything happens like a fight someone can try to punch a person, the person ducks, and someone else gets hit in the face. One other disadvantage is some kids in higher grades mess around with kids in lower grades. One final disadvantage is that some kid in higher grades like to fool around and slack off so there not really being a rolemodel to anyone in a lower grade. There just making them think that that higher grade is all fun and you and you can get away with anything. But,then they get into that grade and do something something really stupid and maybe dangerous to other kids and get suspened or even expelled for it. So in my opinion I think that the juniors and high schooler should have combined schools so they won't be surprised in the future of what might happen.

  32. Junior High and High School are combined, which I find to be a disadvantage, yet sometimes an advantage. Personally, I dislike being a 7th grader. I hate having to wake up for band at 6:00, while the high school have band during actual school. Being in Junior High is intimidating, being the small kids, especially if you don't know anyone in the higher grades. It is also something to get used to. Last year, down in Grady we were the "seniors." Being in junior high is temporary though and is something that won't last. So as long as you try to make the best of these years, being in Junior High doesn't have to be all that bad.

We don't study much we look for a easy way out and if not we make up any thing and hopefully the beast. We don't have the beast thing we are in a economy problum. Last year we had to let go of staff and change many classes to go along with our buget. At the same time we have advantages. Our school may not have every thing but our middle school gets along with each other we all have the capasity to work hard and get better grades with a littel more disaplin. Other school have longer more days of school to study and be ready and we can make that happen. We have sports that help us out by geting extra credit it also looks good in a college applicaion. We have many sports like soccer baseball track and others. The techers are hard working and have hight expataions with that we are able to start working harder and hey help us in every thing they can.

Another advantage is that we could have more students so we could overcome other schools. We could be recognized with more students. A disadvantage is that our teahers have many problems with the amount of students in our school. Teachers cant handle all 20 students in one class. This causes those students to not really learn. I think that some people use some of the other kids that are in a higher grde to help with the H.W. 38. Having junior high and high school is a very crazy mixup.
It is an advantage because we get to share our thoughts about teachers and how they are (Mean or nice). When we share what we think about teachers we get ready to expect them as are teachers next year.
I also think that having junior high and high school is a bad idea. It causes to much drama and fights.
While walking the hallways you always here rude comments from anyone in the school about the students behavior or how they act.
I usally here people say "Oh, you heard about the junior high? They are so drmatic. They need to grow up."
It could be dangerous for junior high to see high school behavior because high school students are very aggresive.
To high school students are role model to junior high and should put a good face on for junior high students.

  41. I think having a Junior High/High School is a disadvantage to 7th-12th graders. There are some advantages, such as having to pay for less teachers. The disadvantages are plenty. For one thing, it's more packed and the teachers have more stress on their shoulders. The main reasons we HAVE to do this mix is because 1. There's no more property to make a middle school and 2. The school can't pay for more teachers. Plus, I think some of the seniors intimidate the first quarter 7th graders (I was not fyi). But, amazingly, AHHS manages to make due with what it has.

  45. in my Opinion i think having Junior High/High School in one building is an disadvantage to students. An example of this is that whenever im walking in the halls i either see a high schooler getting into a fight with another high schooler or high schoolers insulting most jr. high students. Also the hallway is always crowded and most kids end up getting late to class which leads to teachers getting mad at the student or giving them detention. And lastly most high schoolers leave a bad influence on us,the jr.high students.an example of this maybe that a high schooler is offering someone in the 7th or 8th grade to smoke a ciggerate and they accept it.Maybe years from then the persons life can be screwed up a becausee of an high schooler offering them a ciggerate. To conclude i think havig high school and jr.high in the same school is a bad idea.

  46. Our school bieng smushed both jr.high and high school,is a disatvantage in my oint of view.why? Because taller kids that are like 6 ft tall petrify me. They make me feel like I'm tiny...its like jr.high students are small fishes in a huge ocean filled with gigantic fish. I am a tall person myself but compared to them I feel small.another reason why this is a disatvantage is because sure. Older kids with more expirience can show you around....or maybe tell you what you need to know about other students, teachers,or perhaps any acadmic programs that will definitly boost your grade. The people or teachers you should stay away from, but seriouslly would you walk up to an unknown stranger here at AHHS and say "hey show me around any tips on how to survive this school or mr.vergara's class?" I wouldn't .unless...you know the person than go ahead. Another reason this is a disatvantage is because I have like 4 cousins in this school and I ask them for tips trust me...I do all they say is good luck...yeah very helpful. Everytime I try to get to a class the halways are all jammed and packed with other giant strangers. They seem like they have all the time in the world when really, you have 3 minutes to get to class..who cares right they surely don't. Trying to get to lockers...forget about that! When is seeing a tall person making out by your locer not fun? Don't get me wrong I LOVE this school, its incredible, outstanding but, they surely need to divide us 2 unlike people. Besides that everything else is terific the teachers are marvelouse. Great stuff.

*sorry I get off topic really easily :]

  47. I believe that being combined with the high school has some advantages and some disadvantages. For example,an advantage is the high school students can tell you what you will have to do when we go into high school. They tell us how it's more difficult than it used to be in junior high.A disadvantage is high school should be role models for junior high students. For instance,a disadvantage is the high school is students aren't aware of their acts. Therefore,I believe that junior high and high school have advantages and disadvantages.

  48. I think that being combined with the high school is an advantage, but at times a disadvantage. This is an advantage because the high schoolers already went through what we are going through now. We look up to them since they are older. It does get crowded, but they help you and give you advice. They are helpful and tell us what high school is like. But at times, it is a disadvantage. The hallways are usually crowded and they make alot of noise. They are not aware of their acts, and sometimes others will copy. Most of them are rude and mean. If I am walking down the hallway after school, I see high schoolers getting into a fight or arguing with a teacher. The school is small, so it is easier learning and bigger amount of students in a class. Therefore, having the high school and junior high combined has its advantages and disadvantages.

  49. I think that the Jr High combined with the High School is a disadvantage. Usually we would be considered as kids in middle school. Of course they have more opportunities than us because they are older and are treated differently. I think that it's a really bad idea to have 12th graders that are 17 and 18 around 12 and 13 year olds. When you think about it, that's a huge difference in age. Most people are setting a bad example for kids in Jr High. For some it's the way they treat school property and for others it's being a bully. But as time goes on and we become seniors, I think we'll all have a great time.

  50. Combining the middle and high school students may benefit to the school as well as not benefit to the school. First, the high school students may be a bad influence to the middle schoolers as they may do things such as bully, misbehave, etc. Another disadvantage of combining high with middle school is that you yourself could be bullied. Advantages may include that you may see teachers that you might have later on. Building a middle school may also be expensive, and will take away from school budgets.

  51. combining the middle and high school children isn't the best idea in the world but it has its benefits. high schoolers may mess around with the middle schoolers and do stuff they shouldn't. we also don't have the same level of education so learning would be a problem. but hey, at least we are getting a better education!

  52. I think it is good that the jr and high school are together becuse we can see what it is like to be in high school it is hard. It is also hard becuse they can push you around while you are in the hallways good thing i have a old brother

  53. I think that we middle and high school students have an adventage that this district is combining us. Because of this we may experience how difficult high school may be. Also we may also notice how much they work and may use them as role models for better future. For example, I expirenced how talented high school students are in band. Now I can work harder to be as good as them or maybe better.
