Question 2: The reason why Sal was no longer accessible to Jennings is because Sal was moved to a different bus at The Bronx. As the result, Jennings ran away from their current domicile and tried to find Sal in The Bronx. He was eventually found, but he decides to take Jennings home and promises that he will visit him. When Sal took Jennings home, Sal met with Jennings's mother and soon, Sal took the Burch family to vacations and trips. Soon Sal's job changed to a truck driver and will be away longer. This means visits are less recurrent. While Sal was gone, Jennings's mom broke her neck and back. As the result, Jennings was put into into a home. He was eventually returned home, but because of a recovery accident, Jennings's mom once again was at the hospital. Jennings was moved to another home. At this time, Sal was mostly on the road. Jennings sent a letter to Sal, but didn't seem to receive it. Overall, because of change in jobs, injury, homes and being in a far distance, Jennings had little contact with Sal.

ReplyDeleteWalter's greatest ambition is to finish high school and go into college. He is the smartest of his family and still helps support his family while keeping his grades up. He also wants his brother George to stop hanging out and drinking with the old man. He just wants his family to get stronger and better so he may remain studying and achieve his goal.

Jennings was disappointed when Sal told this to him but he looked on the bright side that Sal will come back. ReplyDeleteAccording to George, Mom's recurrent problem is her illness. To him, he thinks it's all in Mom's head, that she's not really sick. I feel George is just feeling cheated out of his life. His mother is not able to provide for her amount of children and it's killing Mom to feel that way. George has good intentions, but doesn't always have the brightest way in showing them. George is tired of Mom getting sick and I think he feels forced to grow up. To be "the man of the house."

3. This occurrence had happened while Jennings was having his wonderful stay at the Fraizers. Donald had caught a small shark, while Jennings had caught a massive striper. Seeing his opportunity to fool Jennings, he had told him that you can catch stripers anytime and that they were easy and common. His shark was actually the "easy one' and stripers are rare to catch. They had then traded, while jennings thought it was a good deal, it was actually a illogical one. While a shark IS pretty cool, it had only lasted a couple days, before Mr.Fraizer had to throw it back.

4. According to George, mom's recurrent problem is her illness. George does not realize that it is not easy for his mother to take care of all of her kids while she is sick. George is supposed to be the man of the house but sometimes he doesnt act like it. If he learned to do things the right way the first time, he would understand that he should not be giving his mom such a hard time.
