  1. The person I was assigned was Benito Mussolini. I learned that Mussolini was a politician and the 40th Prime Minister of Italy. That was interesting to me because I thought he was just a dictator for Italy. I also learned he believed in antisemitism like Hitler. That was also interesting to me because I thought to be a ruler over a country you have to try to be appealing to all people ,but he was actually prejudice towards Jews.

  3. Pearl Harbor was supposed to neutralize the U.S. Pacific Fleet and protect Japan's advance into Malaya and Dutch East Indies. Also, I learned that 2,403 people died, 188 planes were destroyed and 8 battleships were destroyed and damaged. Congress declared war on Japan on December 8th, and on Germany on December 11.

  4. FDR's role in WW2

One thing about FDR's role in WW2 is that FDR was part of the Allies in WW2. I also learned that he died at the end of WW2 while in office. Finally, I learned that FDR made a destroyer deal with Great Britain. I find these things interesting because I thought FDR only helped the poor in WW2.

  5. One, interesting thing about Oskar Schindler is that he was born into a wealthy business family. Another fascinating thing, is when he saved many lives of Jews during the Holocaust. Lastly, since he was a businessman he initially sought to profit from the German invasion of Poland in 1939, by buying a factory in Krakow at a low price and employing Jews as cheap labor. These three things were interesting to me because it shows how one man can make a change and how brave he was to do all of these things for the Jews.

  7. In 1925, Kahlo suffered the serious accident which was to set the pattern for much of the rest of her life. The accident before she accepted this. It also meant that she faced a life-long battle against pain. In 1926, during her convalescence, she painted her first self-portait, the beginning of a long series in which she charted the events of her life and her emotional reactions to them.

  9. The Japanese kamakse was like the suicide bombers today. The kamakse were the Japanese pilots that would crash into navy vessels. At that time Japan had a very strong army. They were very strong and would never surrender. As a matter of fact, they thought that to surrender was a dishonor.

  10. Joseph Stalin was the General Secretary of Russia that served as a commanding officer in World War 2. During his childhood his siblings died of poor health and he became an only child. As a child, he experienced poverty and knew what it felt like to be a peasant. To make things worse Stalin got many health problems but was still able to get a full scholarship to Tiflis Theological Seminary. These facts are interesting to me because he grew up to be one of the strongest leaders and cause he started out like a wimp and worked his way up.

  11. My topic was the Nazi party, mainly origins. One little fact I learned was that they did not like communism, which I think is weird because they both are bad goverments. Another weird thing is that like communism, in theory the Nazi party had good causes, besides the Holocaust and everything. The last thing which is funny is that the party added 500 to every member's number to fake political strength. Is that how all politics work?
