1) Vivien Thomas faced segregation as one of his problems. He lived in Nashville Tennessee which was racially segregated. It caused many problems for Vivien like going to a poor school unlike the whites who went to better schools than Vivien.
2)Vivien Thomas also faced poverty. He was born in the era of the great depression and his family was very poor. Since the stock market crashed Vivien's parents didn't know what to do which was very hard for them.
3) The third thing Vivien Thomas faced was a lack of trust. Nobody would trust a black person to do cardiac surgery on them. They would never think of that, instead whites would go to white cardiac surgeons to that they trust. Back then America did not trust black people for almost anything so why would they put a white man's life in the hands of some one called Vivien Thomas?

2) Frids's husband Diego Rivera made her suffer. She said that she was hit by a car and left her crippled physically, but Diego left her crippled emotionally. Also,Frida couldn't have kids and that's why Diego made her suffer; he had other wives.

3. Robinson was drafted into the military and upon him boarding a bus to be transferred he was ordered to sit in the back. He refused, and the driver summoned the military police on Robinson. They took him into custody where he was court martialed. This is another challange he overcame due to the color of his skin.
1) Toni Morrison moved to Ohio from the south escaping racism and moved to the North for better opportunity.
2) Toni's marriage got deteriorated while she was pregnant with a child, she left her husband and took their son with her.
3)Toni's father disliked white people,he wouldn't interact with them let alone let his daughter to talk with them not giving her an open mind luckily her mom was different.
The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of African - American pilots that served at WW2 from 1940 to 1946. These men were the first African - American pilots to successfully formed two groups (332nd Fighter Group and the 477th Bombardment Group). These men however faced racism during there time.
1. Before the Tuskegee Airmen, there were no military pilots in the military. Many African - Americans tried to get the job, but they were rejected. Very few African - Americans were lucky to be just a pilot. In 1921, Bessie Coleman was the first African - American to earn an aviation pilot's license and an international aviation license.
2. At Alabama, small squadrons formed. Soon a program called "The Tuskegee Program" was formed at the Tuskegee Institute. About 500 men were participating in this unit. They were trained at the Tuskegee Army Airfield.
3. Most of the commanders of these squadrons and units are white and were racist toward the other African - American pilots.
Even though Roberto was poor he maneged to make baseball gloves out of milk cartons. He also had to work to make extra money for his family because they were poor. Roberto had seven other siblings in the house so he never got alot of attention or some of the things he wanted.

2) As a med student he took a year off of studying and in 1951 he did a nine month 5000 mi motorcycle journey throughout South America.
3) While hiding in Cuba Guevara has witnessed poverty throughout Sierra Maestra moutains. (he discovered that there were no schools, no electricity, minimal access to healthcare, and more than 40 percent of the adults were illiterate)

The person I am researching is Wilma Rudolph. As a kid Wilma's main challenge was polio. She got through and was able yo walk again. Another challenge she faced was during a race she broke her ankle but kept going. Wilma went through a lot. Olivia Nembhard.
Wilma Rudolph had to face the challenges of having polio at the age of 4,not being to play high school basketball as a freshman, and being one of many children.
