    1. Cesar Chavez was a civil rights activist. Chavez means that you do not need to disrespect another's culture to maintain your culture. I agree with this because really many people might think that they need to disrespect someone's culture. To keep your own culture, you do not need to disrespect another person's culture. I think Chavez would say this because the time where he was living, there was an innumerable number of whites that disrespected African Americans, thinking that it was what they needed to do. Cesar Chavez fought for civil rights and he wanted the segregation to end between all these cultures.

    5. Cesar Chavez was a Mexican American farm worker, labor leader, and civil right activist. What he is saying is to keep your culture safe and out of harm, that doesn't mean you have to disrespect another's culture. It wouldn't do you any good an it would hurt the other person. I agree with what Cesar Chavez said. To keep your culture, all you have to do is follow it and you don't have to think of others while keeping it. I think he would say this because he saw alot of descrimination going on around him.

    6. To me this quote means that to keep your culture you don't have to harm anyone else's cause that doesn't do you any good. I agree with this quote cause it says what's right. If you want to preserve your culture than do it nobody will try to stop you unless your an immigrant. Cesar Chavez was a Mexican American farm worker, labor leader, and civil rights fighter who founded the UFW(United Farm Workers). He would say this cause he probably saw fighting between two different people from two different cultures. Cesar could have been a man of speech not violence.

    7. Cesar Chavez meant that to keep your own culture safe, you dont have to use dirty ways like violence against other cultures. I agree with this quote because dirty stuff shouldnt be done cause then both cultures will be destroyed. Violence cause even more violence. Cesar Chavez was a Mexican labor activist and the leader of the United Farm Workers(UFW). Cesar Chavez was like the voice or the speaker of the farm workers. He wanted rights for the workers and other rights. Cesar said this because I think he was part of a conflict between his culture and another culture.

    8. “Preservation of one’s own culture does not require contempt or disrespect for other cultures,” means that you should be able to love your own culture without being disrespected because someone else believes in a different culture. It also means that you should be able to accept the fact that people are different and learn from their different cultures. I agree with this quote because I believe that people should have the right to celebrate their own culture without being mistreated or segregated. People who have a problem with others who celebrate their culture are probably racist and prejudice. In addition, they are ignorant and uneducated. When you are educated you learn to respect and appreciate people who celebrate different cultures. Cesar Chavez was a Mexican American farm worker. When he was young he spoke only Spanish and his teachers punished him because the Spanish language was not allowed in his American school. The White American teachers were disrespecting his culture because he did not speak the way that they spoke or celebrate their culture. He would say this quote so that people wouldn’t disrespect other cultures and would learn to appreciate different cultures all over the world.

    9. Cesar Chavez was a mexican farm worker and was also a labor leader. His quote meant that to protect you culture and to keep it safe. I agree with the quote because you don't have to go to harm someone else culture because it turns into violence. Cesar Chavez wanted rights for farmers. He also wanted segregation to end between the two cultures. He was also the leader of the (UFW) United Farmers Workers. Cesar Chavez helped farms to get legal right as the white men. He was in a conflict with his culture and a other culture .

    10. Cesar Chavez was a Mexican civil rights activist for farmers. He said this quote to show that people don't have to discriminate other cultures just to feel right. I agree with this quote because if I disagreed, I would be saying I have to be stuck up to someone just to preserve my culture. One example of this was when African Americans were being discriminated, the whites did that just to feel right, which is wrong. Cesar Chavez was one of the most famous latino civil rights activist. He created the United farmers union which helped give rights to all farms, no matter the culture. This is what made him famous.
