Jennings's family includes Jennings, Mother, Larry, Walter, George and Gene. Jennings was the main character and his mood was like a rollercoaster. Each mood based on his experience is each different. Mrs. Burch (mother) is in a tired state and can't take care of her children. Thats why the children were sent to homes. Larry is a 11 year old boy that complains alot on the mother's commands Walter and George look similar, but they quarrel on deficient things and even for no reason. Jenning's family is undesirable. First, the two oldest brothers Walter and George are always arguing with mother and usually makes her cry. Walter is the smarter one and George is the man of the house and he smokes. Then, theres Larry who thinks he is unloved and everybody in the house hates him. He also thinks that he does everything around the house. There is also Gene, the youngest in the family, and is usually half of the time asleep. And if mother is out Larry is the one who takes care of him. Finally, theres mother herself and she is ill and needs to rest al the time. In the book she rarely eats because she only makes food for her children.
Jennings's family is not like the family you and I share. His family includes Walter, Gene, George, Larry, Jerome(the brothers) and his mom. George, is not above the influence, he smokes and drinks plus, he fights with Walter. Jerome is desperateley in the hospital waiting for a cure to his heart condition. Finally, mom is sick because it is difficult to care for her family. She sent George, Larry, Walter, Gene and Jennings out to get back on her feet, but when they all came back they all were sent out again.
A way to explain Jennings family is mostly struggling. The people in his family are Gene his baby brother. Then there is Larry the one Jennings is most comfortable with. Next is Jerome but he has been sick his whole life and Jennings only saw him for a couple weeks. Also there is Walter "the brainy kid in the family". Finally there is George " the man of the house or the supporter". Then there is mom that's very vulnerable and ill and trying to support her family. Which I say is like a superhero mom if she's trying her hardest. Maybe there to young but they should appreciate her and what she is doing. They might of stayed at a foster home but she came back and did not let them live there for ever. So that's a real woman in my opinion! - Vani Nair
